About This Journal

The Journal of Franco-Irish Studies (JOFIS) is the peer-reviewed journal of the National Centre for Franco-Irish Studies (NCFIS) and the Association for Franco-Irish Studies (AFIS) at Technological University Dublin. The journal is open access and will publish two issues per year. One of those issues will be the proceedings of the annual postgraduate research seminars held at TU Dublin and will be published each November. The other, a themed issue published in May, will be based on a Call for Papers covering a broad scope of disciplinary approaches in fields of studies connected to Ireland and/or France. Spontaneous submissions are also welcome at any time. Sign up to the mailing list to be kept up to date on activities.

Screening and Peer-Review Process

Manuscripts will be pre-screened to ensure that are within the scope of the Journal and the Call for Papers where applicable. All articles will undergo a double-blind peer review process. The editors aim to have a decision on a submitted manuscript within three months.

Submission Process

The journal welcomes manuscripts in English or French. Submissions must be original work by the author. Authors must own the copyright to the work or provide proof of authorisation by the copyright owner with the submission.

Submissions must be made via ARROW@TU Dublin. Please go to the home page, select Account at the top right-hand corner and register. All submissions must be anonymised. Author information should be supplied in the cover letter and authors must indicate their agreement to the submission process as part of registration. Submissions are only completed when the author has pressed the ‘submit’ button. Authors will be notified when the process is complete. The decision of the editors is final.

What to Include

All authors should include their full name and affiliation (where the research was conducted). If unaffiliated, please use ‘independent researcher’.

The journal is free for authors and the editorial staff comply with the code of conduct of COPE: the Committee on Publication Ethics.
