Abstract

I love food, I eat it everyday, and I think that is reason enough to be interested in it enough to write about it.

I support the work of local restaurants, and am in charge of marketing at what I consider to be one of the finest gastronomic gafs in the west of Ireland, plainly because I love everything that is Ard Bia – It is the most idyllic culinary hub situated in one of the most iconic buildings in Galway.

Ard Bia and Richie McCarthy are passionate about the same principles, excellent service, supporting local food producers, providing freshly prepared dishes, using organic and fairtrade produce, informal dining, and a service bill that doesn’t hurt the first time you got a kick in the balls at school (or whatever the equivalent is to the ladies).

My interest in food travels beyond a fleeting passion, it always was and is destined to be a major part of my world. Bia go halainn is just another step along the road…….

This weekend I have been treated to some excellent culinary gifts, Salamela sausages from Italy, and sand sole from the Galway market, from here on in, I plan to photograph and record these experiences, and hopefully they will be of interest to others, then again………..maybe not
