The green organic food revolution is emerging in Ireland out of growing concern for environmental and social issues. In its efforts towards a sustainable food and farming system the Irish government have made a commitment to organic producers and growers under Harvest 2020. This paper will look at the merits of both organic farming and locally produced in providing a sustainable future.
