The Gastronomy Archive is attempting to capture the history of food and drink in all its aspects. The categories of material to be collected will encompass both the institutional and the personal, the producer and the consumer, the hotelier, restaurateur, retailer, wholesaler and the customer. Food and drink is part of our social experiences and is integral to our social and cultural history. The archive is all embracing, with a particular emphasis on Ireland. The following categories are of particular relevance at this initial stage: Menus, Photographs, Documents, Pamphlets, Memories, Diaries, Receipts, Competitions, Blog Posts, Events and any other material of this typeIf you have a particular story to tell, please consider giving us an interview about your experiences as preserving the oral histories of individuals will be of great interest to future generations If you are an Institution that has been involved in this area please allow us to digitize and showcase your records on the archive, all contributors will retain copyright of their contributions
All contributions are digital so you can provide us with scanned material or alternatively we can scan hardcopy for you and return the originals to you. It is important that scans be of a high quality.
