Drawing: Starting Point of Finishing Line? Limerick City Gallery of Art is delighted to present an afternoon of talks at Istabraq Hall on Thursday 28 October 2010, 2-4pm, to coincide with its current exhibition, The Woods, selected from the National Collection of Contemporary Drawing and new works by artists from the Creative Limerick initiative.

Abstract

The event intended to provide a forum for a variety of perspectives with contributions from a panel of distinguished speakers who engage with drawing either laterally or directly in their professional and/or artistic work. Presentations by Brendan Earley, Brian Fay, Deborah Harty, Marian Lovett, Brenda Moore-McCann, Paraic E. Moore, Jim Savage and David Lilburn highlighted the diversity of contemporary drawing practice, its potential and possibility, and what it is that motivates contemporary practitioners to persist with drawing as a defining element of their practice.
